Brian Spugnardi is an avid photographer with a certain intuition about creativity. His ability to see light and his subjects differently allows Brian to capture and portray scenes that may be missed by most.
Brian grew up in and around central Kentucky and spent much time appreciating the great outdoors. As a child he would spend entire days hiking, fishing, and mountain biking. He and his friends would spend spring break camping and "roughing it". One scene, painted in his mind, he hopes to capture with his camera is a calm Kentucky farm pond reflecting the setting sun while red-winged black birds call to each other from surrounding cat-tails.
Brian's first 'real' camera purchase was in New Mexico where he was stationed with the United States Air Force. With his new camera, and a book about digital photography, he began developing his trade. But it wasn't until some years later he really began to study and focus.
After 4 years with the Air Force and 5 years as an electrical engineering student and musician, Brian accepted an internship at a coal mine in southern Illinois. This is where he met Jan Uhls, a career coal miner and photography enthusiast. After "talking shop" about photography and sharing ideas and images, Brian purchased his first DSLR.
His next move would be the icing on the cake. After the summer internship had passed, he moved to St. Kitts, in the Caribbean, to support his wife through veterinary school. With enthusiasm, time, and his camera, Brian began seriously studying the art of landscape photography. He has spent his time in St. Kitts developing his craft, taking advantage of the beautiful landscapes around him.
Brian encapsulates the beauty of everyday life with every photo, exemplifying his motto: passion through perspective. Please browse his galleries to see the beautiful examples of his work.
